November is Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month

Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month is a time to reflect on the people currently afflicted by Alzheimer's Disease (AD) and creating awareness of the risk factors that may cause the progression of the disease.

Alzheimer's is the most common form of dementia, or loss of memory, thinking, and behavioral function. The disease progresses over time, and unfortunately there is no cure. However, there have been major efforts in the scientific community to find a cure, or slow the progression of the disease, or find out those who may genetically be at risk.

Risk factors include high cholesterol, high blood pressure and obesity. Therefore, managing any other related diseases such as diabetes, smoking, and poor nutrition are of utmost importance.
